About the role
This position involves overseeing one or more underground telecommunication construction crews, ensuring safe, timely, and accurate installation, maintenance, and repair of customer telecommunications equipment.Responsibilities
- Oversight of installation, maintenance, and/or repair of telecommunications equipment to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and safety in completion.
- Supervision of day-to-day activities and project progress, establishment of guidance on project execution, and ensuring compliance with predetermined project deliverables.
- Excellent communication with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist in an assigned area, department or project.
- Identification and course correction of project issues and risks, and assistance in the development of response plans to resolve.
- Understanding of current and future business goals and ongoing issues.
- Implementation and maintenance of processes to assist in the completion of tasks in support of an assigned area, department, or project.
- Communication with Company personnel, customers, and contractors to ensure tasks are completed.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in a related field or 3 years of related work experience.
- Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience.
- Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Qualifications
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
Skills
- Good working knowledge of telecommunications construction.
- Familiarity with excavation equipment, utility lines and poles, and the functionality of each.
- Ability to use digger derrick and trenching equipment.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.
