100% Travel MCE Wind Technician II Northeasterm (PA)
About the role
This is a remote, hourly position requiring 100% travel across the South region. With overtime, travel, and supplemental earnings, MCE Technicians have the potential to earn over $100,000 per year. Responsibilities
- Ensure safety for everyone involved through Risk Assessment and Protective Measures.
- Execute major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems.
- Perform maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects following established procedures.
- Travel extensively to support turbine operations across multiple platforms and site conditions.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment.
Requirements
- Prioritize safety above all else.
- Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms.
- Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions.
- A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges.
- Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
- Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- A high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

- Basic Safety Training (BST)
- Basic Technical Training (BTT)
- Advanced Rescue Training (ART) from the Global Wind Organization (GWO)

Pay
The base pay salary range for this position is $27.43-$33.43/hr., with potential for additional variable compensation. Vestas is offering a $2,500 USD sign-on bonus for candidates with the required certifications.

Training & Equipment

Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Hearing ability to use telephones, close range radios or related device.
- Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs.
- Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical Qualification, Fall Arrest & High Angle Rescue & Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
- Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
- Due to design parameters of fall protection equipment, the combined weight of prospective employee, required PPE and gear shall not exceed 300 lbs.
- Required PPE and gear may weigh up to 40 lbs.
