About the role

Carilion Clinic Breast Care Center is adding a Breast Imager to its comprehensive program of dedicated expertise in breast imaging, surgery, pathology and operations. A highly innovative practice environment exists in collaboration with the Virginia Tech School of Medicine. The position includes the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students as well as to conduct original clinical research in a mutually supportive environment with core specialties; however, research is not required. Other aspects of the Breast Care Center include a nationally recognized quality program, five outreach screening locations, 27,000 screening mammograms annually, 35,000 exams annually, a dedicated diagnostic center of 8,500 square feet, and separate interpretation areas within the diagnostic center for an optimal environment for breast interpretation. Programmatic advances include a high‑risk genetics program with a dedicated genetics counselor, two interdisciplinary patient care conferences, and continuous evolution through a committed Breast Program Leadership Team. Comprehensive services provide prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and research in collaboration with other departments within the flagship 763‑bed teaching/tertiary medical center.

• US invasive procedures: needle localization, needle core biopsy, and cyst aspiration
• Stereotactic imaging for core biopsy
• Galactography
• Breast MRI
• MR guided core biopsies

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible, American Board of Radiology (required)
• Completion of Fellowship training in Breast Imaging (required)
• Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia

Pay

Salary range: $510,000 – $684,000 annually. Eligibility to participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs; historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary.
