About the role
The Manager, Supply Chain Logistics 2 is responsible for managing logistics processes, tools, and applications for the site/function. They advance subject matter expertise in logistics and coach and mentor others on strategic activities.
Responsibilities
- Maintains responsibility for the management of site logistics including meeting customer commitments, engaging in negotiations and agreements with suppliers, meeting quality and delivery requirements.
- May manage the warehouse and material handling for all site business units, 24x7, while maintaining appropriate levels of security. Includes receiving, count stations, AWS workstations and control room, AWS maintenance, and third-party warehousing.
- Responsible for the import logistics system team including carrier contract negotiation engagement with the global team and import customs clearance.
- Manages relationships with external carriers, customs brokers, and third-party warehouses including quality, rate negotiation, performance, and alternative providers.
- Ensures compliance on all customs regulations and laws.
- Assists with global issues related to trade compliance logistics. Works with other sites to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
- Manages case, pack, shipping operations and the HUB export process ensuring export customs compliance to all applicable regulations and laws.
- Engaged in logistics/trade compliance tools needed by the site for analytical, cost calculations, and compliance.
- Provides guidance and direction to business units to achieve site logistics financial results.
- Responsible for annual physical inventory (if owns warehouse).
- Responsible for employee training, performance, measurement, development, motivation, and recognition.
- Drives continuous improvements of SCM function through interactions with other departments.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of global and local transportation services.
- Strong knowledge of the global business environment and customers' business.
- Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
- Strong knowledge in all areas of import/export, regulatory, and logistics management.
- Good negotiation and problem resolution skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively lead, manage, train, and motivate a diverse group of employees.
- Strong Logistics financial reporting ability and budgetary development.
- Working knowledge of Free Trade Agreements, HS Tariff, Duty/VAT, ITAR regulations, Sanctions and Embargoes.
Qualifications
- 7 years or more in a related Logistics or Trade Compliance field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics Management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
