1:1 Facilitator (BILINGUAL SPED) (REPOST)

Responsibilities

• Affords the assigned student with self-help and self-care skills.
• Performs simple errands and tasks for the student.
• Accompanies the student to the office or to other areas of the building.
• Establishes a positive relationship with the student.
• Serves as a resource person to the student personnel evaluation team.
• Participates in professional development.
• Facilitates the integration of the special education student into the regular classroom.
• Establishes cooperative relationships with other staff members.
• Helps the student maintain limits that define or structure a situation positively.
• Cooperates with the teacher to create positive solutions to problems.
• Helps the child to develop appropriate personal and interpersonal skills.
• Maintains a flexible attitude and approach towards classroom situations.
• Shows genuine concern and respect for the student(s).
• Supervises the arrival and dismissal of students to and from school.
• (If specified in the student's IEP/504) rides the bus both to and from school.
• Sanitizes materials/equipment in accordance with program and board policy.
• Circulates and assists other students in the classroom when the assigned student is not in need of assistance or absent.
• Carries out other appropriate activities as assigned by the teacher.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Diabetic Care Trained (preferred or willing to be trained).
