Essential Job Functions
- Identifies the needs of individual students through continuous assessment.
- Plans and implements instructional strategies based on identified student needs.
- Writes instructional plans and manages the classroom to create optimal learning conditions.
- Applies learning theories to meet the needs of students and evaluates student progress.
- Conducts parent conferences and participates in professional development activities.
- Supervises educational assistants, oversees students, communicates with colleagues, and assesses building-level needs.
- Attends meetings and serves on committees as directed.
- Fulfills all assigned responsibilities and fulfills other related duties.
Working Conditions
- Primarily indoors in a classroom setting, with occasional outdoor supervision, school activities, or field trips.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, and frequent movement throughout the instructional space.
- Moderate noise levels and exposure to student behaviors while managing classroom dynamics.
- May involve lifting, carrying, or moving instructional materials or equipment.
- Required to attend meetings, school events, conferences, professional responsibilities, and activities outside the regular instructional day.

Education and Experience
- Completion of course work satisfying the requirement for issuance of a valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement in the designated assignment.
- Demonstrated ability to teach students to be successful learners through student teaching, internship, or temporary/regular teaching experience.
Certification and Licensing
- Hold or be eligible to qualify for an Oregon Teaching License.
