Detailed Description

• Acts as lead and problem solver, balances personnel and facilitates the movement of product(s) through designated area of responsibility.
• Maintains oversight of the conduct, performance, and contributions of cell members.
• Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
• Maintains accountability for quantity and quality output, leading production or prototype teams to meet group goals.
• Compiles and generates reports on cell performance.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
• Knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
• Knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications, and SMT processing systems.
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
• Ability to recognize and address issues in the assembly process or with assembly components.
• Effective communication skills with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Teamwork and leadership abilities to lead the team to high-quality production within tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer applications and accurate task performance in relevant applications such as Word, Lotus Notes, Excel, and Documentation control systems.
• Advanced manufacturing system knowledge.

Physical Demands

• Duties performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
• Periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting and/or standing in confined workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
• Periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects.
• Extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.

Typical Experience

Four to five years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

A high school diploma and additional courses after high school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and a commitment towards further / additional education.
