About the role

Lids Sports Group is the largest licensed sports retailer in North America, featuring official merchandise from collegiate and professional teams, along with top brands. As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll lead the store, fostering a passionate environment for sports and fashion enthusiasts.

Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty for employee scheduling, handling issues, and customer complaints when the Store Manager is absent.
• Manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, goal setting, and regular follow-up when the Store Manager is not present.
• Administer disciplinary measures, including warnings, to store associates.
• Create a fun and inclusive environment by engaging team members and supporting their professional growth.
• Schedule and staff the store, including calling in associates for unexpected peaks, and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Recruit and train new store personnel, and encourage adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Execute operations-focused directives, promote store activities, and manage store technology and equipment.
• Maintain store facilities, supplies, and services, and effectively manage cash transactions.
• Organize the backroom to optimize space and productivity, and execute special pricing and promotional presentations.
• Protect company assets and manage store inventory according to LIDS Retail policies.
• Communicate with customers, resolve issues, and offer membership programs or special offers.
• Ensure the store is visually appealing and aligned with product sell-through strategies.

Qualifications

To succeed, you should have a proven track record of achieving sales goals and minimizing losses. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly are essential. You must be able to work independently and handle occasional lifting and climbing tasks.
