About the role

Lids Sports Group is a leading licensed sports retailer in North America, operating over 1,300 stores. Our Assistant Store Managers are responsible for fostering the passion for sports and fashion by managing the store's performance, creating a positive environment, and providing exceptional customer service.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Act as Manager on Duty for employee scheduling, handling customer complaints, and enforcing discipline when the Store Manager is not present.
• Manage store associates through LIDS Training Programs, setting goals, and providing regular follow-up.
• Engage team members by fostering a fun and productive environment and helping them understand their roles.
• Contribute to a respectful and inclusive team environment by establishing supportive relationships and adhering to Lids Brand Standards.
• Schedule and staff the store, including calling in associates for unexpected peaks, and participate in LIDS Training Programs.
• Aid in recruiting and training new store personnel and encourage compliance with company policies.
• Execute operations-focused directives, promote adherence to policies and procedures, and manage store technology and equipment.
• Maintain store facilities, supplies, and services by addressing service requests, assessing maintenance needs, and replenishing supplies.
• Effectively manage cash transactions, including opening and closing the till, using counterfeit protection, and making consistent bank drops.
• Prepare the store for inventory audits and support in performing them to ensure accuracy.
• Protect company assets according to LIDS Retail policies and manage store inventory, including receiving, transferring, completing price changes, and conducting product counts.
• Execute optimal layout and visual merchandising strategies, including managing window activations, hardware flips, mannequin flips, and seasonal merchandise changes.
• Ensure the store looks and feels fresh through daily visual merchandising and store actions, such as product recovery, restocking, destocking, or minor VM changes.
• Adjust special pricing signage and promotional presentations during operating hours to align with overall product sell-through strategy.
