Responsibilities
- Affords teachers support in delivering educational activities and experiences.
- Administers student assessment testing and completes IEPs and other reports.
- Supports the implementation of lesson plans and instructional strategies.
- Assists students with individual tasks and instructional activities.
- Gathers, files, and maintains reports, records, materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years of clerical/administrative experience or thirty hours of college coursework in a relevant field.
- Skilled in using standard software applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Passes an extensive background investigation.
- Passes mandatory drug testing and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.
Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High tolerance for emotionally demanding/stressful work environments.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Standard office environment within a secured facility.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
- May be transferred to another department, shift, location, or facility.
- Subject to working mandatory overtime or additional shifts.
- May be considered essential personnel and subject to call-backs.
- Must be at least 21 years old and pass Juvenile Academy requirements and PREA/ethics standards.
