ZUMBA Group Exercise Instructor

About the role

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW) seeks an energetic and experienced individual to conduct group exercise classes according to the guidelines set by the YMCA of the USA and the Director of Group Exercise. Responsibilities

• Congruently conduct group exercise classes adhering to YMCA guidelines and the Director of Group Exercise's directives
• Provide assistance during classes in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner
• Act as a positive role model with an enthusiastic attitude
• Ensure all scheduled classes are conducted and sub coverage is secured
• Greet participants, learn their names, take attendance, and familiarize yourself with Upace Group Ex technology
• Identify and respond to participant limitations, adapting classes or providing modifications as needed
• Properly and safely utilize all equipment associated with your class
• Promote a healthy lifestyle and attend advanced training workshops offered by the YMCA of Greater Brandywine
• Participate in special events and open houses throughout the year
• Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be available Wednesdays 12pm
• At least 1 year of participation in group exercise class(es) required
• Must possess and maintain at least one current Group Exercise certificate of completion or specialty certificate from a reputable organization for each specialized group modality
• Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
