Zoning Research Analyst

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research on zoning laws, ordinances, and land-use regulations.
• Review and interpret zoning maps, municipal codes, and planning documents.
• Contact local planning and zoning departments to verify information and obtain documentation.
• Compile findings into clear, concise, and accurate zoning reports.
• Ensure all data collected is properly sourced, verified, and documented.
• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and ensure report quality.
• Track and update research progress using internal systems and databases.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong research and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experience with records management or compliance is a plus
• Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act principles and procedures is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and mapping tools (GIS experience a plus)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
• Prior experience with zoning or land use research preferred but not required
• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Real Estate, or related field (preferred)
