Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research on zoning laws, ordinances, and land-use regulations.
- Review and interpret zoning maps, municipal codes, and planning documents.
- Contact local planning and zoning departments to verify information and obtain documentation.
- Compile findings into clear, concise, and accurate zoning reports.
- Ensure all data collected is properly sourced, verified, and documented.
- Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and ensure report quality.
- Track and update research progress using internal systems and databases.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with records management or compliance is a plus
- Familiarity with Freedom of Information Act principles and procedures is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and mapping tools (GIS experience a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
- Prior experience with zoning or land use research preferred but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Real Estate, or related field (preferred)
