Zoning Plans Examiner

Requirements

• Vocational/Educational: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of full‑time equivalent experience in addition to meeting the vocational/education standards.
• Special Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a driving record compliant with City Driving Standards; additional certifications such as State Plans Examiner, Building Inspector, Fire Protection Plans Reviewer, or similar may be required.
• Special Requirements: May be expected to work hours beyond the normal schedule in response to short‑term department needs or city‑wide emergencies.
• Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 3 years’ experience working with development ordinances as it relates to plan review.
