About the role
The Zoning Enforcement Officer is responsible for enforcing local zoning laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Enforce local zoning laws and regulations
- Inspect properties for compliance with zoning requirements
- Issue citations and fines for violations
- Respond to complaints and inquiries related to zoning issues
- Work closely with other departments and community members
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- At least 2 years of experience in law enforcement or a related field
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Knowledge of local zoning codes and regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make sound decisions and handle sensitive situations
