ZMA Remote Pilot Operator

Roadmap

• Operate a combination of a simulated radar display and voice communication system to simulate the actions and communication of pilots and remote ATC facilities during medium and high-fidelity training exercises.
• Receive voice commands from students and input proper entries into the automated system to simulate pilot actions.
• Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology and respond to the student via the VCS using proper phraseology.

Certifications Required

• Classroom (pass test on airspace and procedures)
• Lab (perform as a Remote Pilot Operator on all positions)

Qualifications

The candidate should have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a valid U.S. passport. Additionally, the candidate must hold a Commercial Pilot License (with instrument rating) and a Remote Pilot Certificate (FAA Part 107).

Skills

• Proficiency in using air traffic control simulators
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to operate radar displays and voice communication systems
• Knowledge of air traffic control procedures and airspace management

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually.
