Zero Waste Captain

About the role

Live Nation Entertainment is the world’s leading live entertainment company, comprised of global market leaders: Ticketmaster, Live Nation Concerts, and Live Nation Media & Sponsorship. US Concerts is seeking a Zero Waste Captain to help advance sustainability programs by sorting materials and educating others. This seasonal, part-time role partners with the Venue Sustainability Coordinator and is part of the venue operations team, working show days with hours varying based on the event schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the post-show sorting process of all recycling, composting, and landfill materials.
• Serve as an ambassador to band members to help them understand their role in achieving the venue’s sustainability goals.
• Assist in employee engagement programs such as water bottle refill punch cards, post-show sort giveaways, and new initiatives.
• Engage fans and encourage participation in sustainability programs through activities or education.
• Participate in Zero Waste Captain training.

Requirements

• Approximately 90% of the time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, and carrying 50 lbs. or more, with about 65% of that time dedicated to sorting materials.
• Dedication to participate in initiatives with a real and immediate impact.
• Ability to work well with other departments.
• Experience in events, particularly zero waste events, is a plus.
• Positive attitude, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.

Pay

Expected compensation for this position is $18.40 USD - $23.00 USD hourly, based on market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
