Youth Worker - Summer Program (Beacon)

Program Description

Beacons operate year-round on non-school hours, weekdays, evenings, weekends and in the summer as a resource to the entire community by offering integrated programming tailored to local needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a group of co-ed children (grades K-8).
• Divide children into groups by grade for morning academic enhancement.
• In the afternoon, involve children in reading enrichment, project-based learning, group games, social-emotional competencies, and field trips.
• Engage with campers in all their daily activities.
• Work collaboratively with Group Work practice to provide a positive and creative environment for the social and intellectual development of all participants.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children and adolescents.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
• Pass a background check.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, June 22, 2026, through August 14, 2026.
• Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm.
• Total hours: 35-40 hours per week.
