Youth Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Aid clients in developing and applying skills in natural settings.
• Provide planned and/or crisis respite services.
• Build developmentally appropriate skills to promote personal and community competence.
• Increase social and interpersonal skills of the client (child/youth).
• Offer services in individual and group settings within the community.
• Deliver and document services according to Medicaid billing and agency standards.
• Collaborate with service providers involved in the treatment plan.
• Demonstrate cultural competence and trauma-informed practice.
• Attend weekly supervision meetings.
• Participate in mandatory and recommended training programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma, GED, or Technical School education.
• Related experience working with at-risk youth or youth with mental health/special needs.
• Valid NYS Driver License and access to private transportation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
