About the role

This is an on-site, part-time position. Officiate a variety of sports programs for youth and teens. Create a safe, enjoyable, positive, and inclusive environment that welcomes people of all skill and activity levels. Provide a quality experience to participants and families.

Responsibilities

  • Officiates games in accordance with YMCA rules and guidelines.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.
  • Develops positive relationships with participants.
  • Sets up and takes down equipment. Reports any equipment needs.
  • Attends staff meetings and approved trainings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 16 years of age or older.
  • Current state-approved first aid certification preferred.*
  • Current state-approved CPR certification preferred.*
  • Knowledge of the sport.
  • Experience in officiating preferred.
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
  • At hire, or earliest possible training (but no later than 90 days after employment).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Pay

Hiring range: $21.30 - $23.00/hour, DOE.
