Youth Sports Coordinator - Pay grade 1

Seasonal part-time position at the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA. Hourly pay: $13 (experience considered).

About the role

Help develop, organize, and implement high-quality youth and adult sports programs and maintain program fields under the direction of the Sports Director.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Direct and supervise program activities to meet YMCA objectives.
• Expand youth sports programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Transport and set up equipment for games and practices.
• Maintain, groom, and prepare fields daily for practices, games, and weekend tournaments.
• Develop and distribute team practice and game schedules; oversee and/or schedule sports officials.
• Create and distribute sports rules, guidelines, and handbooks.
• Distribute team uniforms and awards; coordinate team photographs.
• Supervise on-site, including weekend tournaments when necessary.
• Assist the Sports Director with organizing leagues, scheduling referees/games, acquiring volunteer coaches and umpires, and supporting all activities.
• Maintain a professional demeanor.
• Plan and facilitate summer youth sport camps.
• Umpire when necessary.
• Report daily to the Sports Director for assignments.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Sports experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule.
• Minimum age of 18 years; must pass reference and criminal background checks.
• Within 30 days of hire: Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid & AED; Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
• Must complete Child Abuse Prevention Video Courses before the first day.
