Youth Sports Coach - Cheerleading

About the role

TGA Premier Sports offers a national, school-based enrichment program that brings Cheerleading directly to children ages 3-14 years old across Wake and Durham counties. Most classes take place on school campuses during after-school hours (between 2:00-5:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Bring the energy, patience, and ability to connect with kids.
  • Teach Cheerleading classes for our Winter and Spring seasons.
  • Work flexible, part-time hours (afternoon availability, typically 2-5 days per week, short shifts).
  • Transport equipment to and from class as needed.
  • Complete onboarding paperwork promptly.

Requirements

  • Strong passion for working with kids and helping them grow.
  • Willingness to step out of your comfort zone, be playful, and engage like a kid when needed.
  • Great communication skills — respond quickly to messages from administrators and clearly communicate how classes went.
  • A positive, reliable, professional attitude.
  • Genuine passion for sports, movement, and keeping kids active.
  • No prior coaching experience required — we provide all curriculum and training for Cheerleading.
  • Experience working with children in any setting (schools, camps, babysitting, volunteering, etc.).
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test (required by partner schools).

Qualifications

  • Afternoon (around 2:30-5:30pm) availability (2-5 days per week).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to transport equipment to and from class.
  • Ability to complete onboarding paperwork promptly (processing takes several weeks).
