About the role
Detroit Recovery Project (DRP) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic providing integrated behavioral health and recovery support services for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our program philosophy is rooted in developing a recovery ecosystem that supports long-term success through: Health & Wellness, Spirituality, Employment, Education/Training, Family & Recovery Support.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and engagement to individuals within the community
- Link participants to services, including housing, treatment, medical, and employment resources
- Support daily program operations and ensure alignment with program goals and timelines
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service notes and required reports
- Enter data into designated systems (tablet/iPad or EHR) during or following client interactions
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners to support referrals and program sustainability
- Ensure adherence to agency policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices
- Support team coordination efforts, including communication and ongoing feedback
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and community events as required
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including occasional evenings or weekends
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in substance use disorder (SUD), behavioral health, or related field
- Lived experience with SUD or behavioral health strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Detroit-area resources related to SUD and mental health services
- MCBAP and/or MDHHS certifications preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with diverse and vulnerable populations in a trauma-informed manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Valid Michigan Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or electronic health record systems
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One (1) year of experience in substance use disorder (SUD), behavioral health, or related field
