Qualifications
- A clear sense of God’s calling to middle & high school ministry
- College degree in Christian studies or 2 years student ministry experience preferred
- A mature, growing relationship with God and His Word in alignment with the Southern Baptist doctrine
- High ethical standards such as those detailed in 1 Timothy and Titus
- The ability to connect with students in a way that builds trust and with the hope of strengthening their family unit
- The ability to make biblical truths clear and relevant to students
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license
- Live within the community
Responsibilities
- Give full support to church leadership, including the senior pastor
- Actively participate in major church events outside youth ministry
- Invest in and equip mature students to develop their Christian leadership skills
- Coordinate all student activities
- Share the Gospel on an ongoing basis and create opportunities for students to come to faith in Christ
- Conduct Wednesday night youth service
- Plan year-round events that may include conferences, retreats, outreach/mission events
- Create and maintain annual student ministry budget
- Teach Sunday School
Pay
$45,000–$50,000 with the possibility of a moving allowance
Schedule
Full-time position with the understanding that some days/weeks may require more than 40 hours. There may be flex time, as approved by the senior pastor, for weeks with overtime hours.
