Youth Mentor for Children with Disabilities

About the role

ExpertCare is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and helpful Youth Mentor to work 1:1 with our Recipients. You will provide support, encouragement, and skill‑building activities in clients’ homes and help bring them into the community to strengthen personal goals outside of the home environment. ExpertCare serves a community of mental health recipients in Southeast Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Work one‑on‑one with Recipients in their homes, following individualized care plans.
• Support and encourage skill‑building activities tailored to each Recipient’s needs.
• Facilitate community outings and activities to help Recipients achieve personal goals outside the home.
• Maintain clear, compassionate communication with Recipients, families, and care team members.
• Document interactions and progress according to program guidelines.

Requirements

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable demeanor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow care plans.
• Comfortable supporting individuals with varying abilities.
• Reliable transportation to and from assignments.
• Ability to pass required background checks and screenings.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Schedule
