Youth Mentor - $500.00 Retention Bonus After 6 Months

Responsibilities

• Provide youth (ages 10–17) with a structured, positive environment.
• Coach and mentor youth on demonstrating positive and appropriate behaviors using the behavior management system.
• Ensure the overall health, safety, and security of assigned youth; observe all fire and safety measures.
• Monitor the movement, contacts, events, and behaviors of youth inside and outside the facility.
• Act as a liaison between other supporting organizations.
• Maintain group home cleanliness and upkeep.
• Perform partial intake process for all new arrivals.
• Regularly tour and observe the facility and grounds to ensure security.
• Monitor visitor activities.
• Prepare meals for youth.
• Transport youth to school, appointments, etc., using a company vehicle.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.

Work Environment

This position works in a group home environment, provides local transportation for youth, and engages in outdoor activities with youth.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to bend or stoop as necessary.
• Must be mobile throughout the facility and able to work on a computer for periods.
• Must participate in youth-related activities, both inside and outside of facilities.
• Able to sit for periods while driving a company vehicle to transport youth.

Schedule

This is a full-time or part-time position, dependent on the role hired. Hours vary based on the assigned shift.

Travel

Little to no travel is expected beyond transport duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience working in a residential or youth services field (preferred).
• Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or other Social Services-related fields (preferred).
