About the role
The Youth Leader will oversee daily activities of the residents in the Juvenile Detention Center. Essential functions include leading groups, monitoring free time involvement, keeping daily records, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Leads groups.
- Makes sure residents are engaged during free time.
- Keeps daily records of resident activities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Understands the products produced and their customers.
- Listens to resident feedback and addresses concerns.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of college and at least 3 months of experience working with high-risk youth, or
- At least three and a half (3.5) years of experience working with high-risk youth.
Additional Requirements
- Must meet licensing and regulatory requirements, including passing a drug test after offer of hire.
- A person with a criminal record or founded child abuse report may not be employed, unless an evaluation concludes employment is appropriate.
- Required certifications after hire include Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting, CPR, Mandt, and Prison Rape Elimination Act.
Shift
- Shift 1: Tuesday - Saturday, 3 - 11 p.m. (Sunday, Monday off)
- Shift 2: Saturday - Wednesday, 3 - 11 p.m. (Thursday, Friday off)
Pay
Hourly wage: $22.75
