Youth Independent Living Overnight Support Specialist, FT

About the Role

Intercept Health, a family-owned agency serving mental and behavioral health, substance use, and foster care needs in Virginia, is seeking an Overnight Support Specialist for its Youth Quest program. As an Overnight Support Specialist, you will serve as a positive role model for residents, contributing to the formulation and implementation of their transitional living plans, and assisting with life skills learning, transportation, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Use good interpersonal communication skills to gain resident cooperation and resolve conflicts.
• Interact with residents while maintaining appropriate relationships without self-disclosure of personal or social information.
• Provide transportation, accompaniment, and direct supervision to residents on outings, activities, and appointments.
• Guide residents in personal hygiene, meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry procedures.
• Exercise fair, firm, and consistent use of the behavioral system.
• Supervise medication administration as appropriate.
• Ensure residents adhere to curfew and document all incidents, behaviors, and critical events in the communication log and resident chart.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services (Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, etc.) OR
• High School diploma with at least one year of experience working with children and/or families.

Pay

$17-$20/hour depending on experience, with a $3000 sign-on bonus.
