Youth Hockey Operations Intern Fall 2026
About the role
The Worcester Railers HC of the ECHL is seeking multiple FOR CREDIT ONLY Youth and Amateur Hockey Operations interns for the 2026-27 academic year. The internship runs from September to December or continues through the season. Candidates must be current college students available to work 15+ hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Make 90% of home games (those unable to make 90% will still be considered).
- Support in all aspects of the Worcester Railers “pregame hockey” programming from setup to team departure.
- Absorb basic ice hockey knowledge.
- Network with local amateur hockey coaches, managers, and group leaders.
- Assist in various office tasks and community events.
Requirements
- Must receive college credit.
- Available to work a minimum of 15+ hours a week, including nights and weekends.
- Available to work 90% of home games during the season.
- Must live within 20 miles of Worcester, MA and have reliable transportation.
- Required to lift 25 pounds and perform some manual labor.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Public/Community Relations, athletic administration, or coaching.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and telephone etiquette skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle a variety of projects.
- Basic knowledge of ice hockey is encouraged.

Schedule

Pay
This is a FOR CREDIT ONLY/UNPAID internship. Interns will only receive credit towards their degree.
