Youth Healing Project
About the role
The Youth Healing Project seeks applications from both young people and organizations to fund initiatives that support the mental health, connection, and well-being of young people aged 14-24 in King County. The project partners include King County Reconnect to Opportunity, Best Starts for Kids, citiesRISE, Public Health – Seattle & King County’s Cannabis, Tobacco Vaping Prevention Program, Overdose Prevention Program, and the Community Center for Education Results. It focuses on historically marginalized communities impacted by historical trauma, racism, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Responsibilities
- For youth applicants: Lead projects either collectively with another group of youth or on your own, focusing on youth mental health and leadership development.
- For organization applicants: Support and mentor groups of young people in leadership development and peer-to-peer mental health support, with experience in training young people to lead projects and supporting their wellbeing.
Requirements
Applicants must be between ages 14-24 for youth applicants and organizations must be located within King County.
Qualifications
- Young people: Well versed or interested in youth leadership development and committed to improving the mental health and well-being of young people.
- Organizations: Experience working with and training young people to lead projects and supporting their wellbeing.
