Youth Enrichment Services Instructor
Brief Description Of Job
Lincoln Land Community College is seeking contractual, part-time, non-benefitted instructors to teach various non-credit academic enrichment classes to school-age youth. Opportunities exist to teach in the fall or spring semesters and/or the College for Kids Summer Camp program.
Youth Enrichment Instructors Needed For
- Variety of areas including, but not limited to, fine arts, creative and performing arts, computer science and gaming, coding, graphic design, fitness and health, history, communication and language arts, public speaking, foreign languages, science, math, STEAM, STEM, arts and crafts, photography, gardening, workforce and career exploration, personal finance, magic, and strategy and roleplaying games.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Developing curriculum for non-credit classes
Providing a safe, positive, and innovative learning environment and promoting active engaged learning for all students.
Managing student behavior and reporting any concerns to the Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator or designee.
Maintaining accurate reporting (attendance, evaluations, etc.).
Aiding with marketing and recruitment of students for classes.
Submitting HR paperwork, supply/material lists, and lesson plans by established deadlines.
Assuming responsibility for the care of materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities.
Reporting any concerns to the Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator.
Complying with department and college policies and procedures.
Pay and Schedules
Pay is dependent upon the class being taught but will be no less than $28/hour.
Work schedules will depend upon student enrollment.
In addition, instructors are needed to teach in LLCC’s ACT Test Preparation Seminar at $38/hour.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the corresponding area or related area of the ACT.
Recent teaching experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
