Youth Enrichment Services Instructor

About the Role

Lincoln Land Community College is seeking contractual, part-time, non-benefited instructors to teach various non-credit academic enrichment classes for school-age youth. Opportunities are available during the fall or spring semesters and/or the College for Kids Summer Camp program. Instructors help set class dates and times and may offer as many classes as desired based on their expertise and interests.

Youth Enrichment Instructors are needed in areas such as fine arts, creative and performing arts, computer science and gaming, coding, graphic design, fitness and health, history, communication and language arts, public speaking, foreign languages, science, math, STEAM, STEM, arts and crafts, photography, gardening, workforce and career exploration, personal finance, magic, and strategy and roleplaying games.

Responsibilities

  • Develop curriculum for non-credit classes.
  • Provide a safe, positive, and innovative learning environment while promoting active, engaged learning for all students.
  • Manage student behavior and report concerns to the Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator or designee.
  • Maintain accurate reporting (attendance, evaluations, etc.).
  • Assist with marketing and recruitment of students for classes.
  • Submit HR paperwork, supply/material lists, and lesson plans by established deadlines.
  • Assume responsibility for the care of materials, supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Report any concerns to the Youth Enrichment Services Coordinator.
  • Comply with department and college policies and procedures.

Requirements

For ACT Test Prep Instructors:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education or a corresponding/related area of the ACT.
  • Familiarity with the ACT exam structure and testing strategies.
  • A passion for student success and academic excellence.
  • Recent teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Pay

Pay varies by class but will be no less than $28/hour. Instructors for LLCC’s ACT Test Preparation Seminar earn $42/hour.

Schedule

Work schedules depend upon student enrollment.

Benefits
