Youth Development Specialist (Part-time Evenings), YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City

About the role

As part of the Getting Ahead initiative, you will work with school-aged children while their parents or guardians attend weekly classes. You will help create a safe, welcoming space where children can learn, play, and feel supported.

Responsibilities

• Lead simple, engaging activities for children
• Supervise and ensure a safe environment
• Help guide children through transitions such as activities, gym time, and meals
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Work as part of a team to support the program
• Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring

Requirements

• Must enjoy working with children and exemplify and support the YMCA philosophy
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Job consists of working with school age children and requires the participation in activities with children
• Must attend all scheduled YMCA trainings, have current CPR certification and uphold the YMCA employee appearance guidelines (training provided by the Y, if needed)

Pay

Starting at $10.45 per hour

Schedule

Evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, up to 12 hours per week depending on program needs and availability. Additional opportunities may be available.
