On-site placement at an Alpha campus in one of these locations: Bethesda, MD; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Greenwich, CT; Malibu, CA; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Palm Beach, FL; San Francisco, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA. Relocation assistance available.

About the role

Traditional schools expect students to meet standards. You'll help them surpass their own limits. Every young person possesses potential they haven't yet recognized. When students encounter difficulty, most adults reduce expectations. Your approach is the inverse. You understand that genuine confidence doesn't emerge from flattery—it develops when someone achieves what they previously considered beyond reach.

Alpha has redesigned education around one core insight: AI excels at academic delivery, while exceptional people excel at transformation. Core academics are completed through adaptive, AI-driven learning applications. Your responsibility is cultivating what technology cannot—discipline, resilience, communication skills, personal ownership, concentration, and the conviction that worthwhile goals require effort.

Your days won't involve lesson delivery or paper grading. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, acknowledge meaningful progress, and guide them toward accomplishments they initially deemed impossible. Approximately 60% of your time involves facilitating dynamic one-hour life skills workshops addressing topics such as public speaking, concentration, leadership, and feedback exchange. About 30% is dedicated to individual and small-group coaching, leveraging Coachbot analytics to determine which students require encouragement, accountability, or alternative strategies. The final 10% encompasses data review, coaching refinement, and preparation to strengthen the upcoming week.

You'll begin with established workshop structures, then enhance and expand them as you identify more effective methods to motivate students. Performance metrics are clear. A minimum of 90% of your students should regularly achieve their weekly academic targets, demonstrate proficiency in Alpha's life skills via Test2Pass evaluations, and provide ratings of at least 4 out of 5 for their experience with you. Consistent achievement of this benchmark creates a defined progression to Lead Guide, where you'll mentor fellow Guides, and ultimately Campus Lead, overseeing the culture and outcomes of an entire school.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating energetic one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students, building communication abilities, resilience, focus, leadership capacity, and other enduring competencies while continuously enhancing the workshop delivery.
  • Providing individual and small-group coaching guided by Coachbot analytics, customized accountability measures, and Alpha's motivational frameworks to ensure every student reaches ambitious weekly objectives.
  • Evaluating life skill proficiency via Test2Pass and delivering focused coaching until each student exhibits authentic competence, not merely attendance.
  • Adjusting your coaching approach for elementary and middle school age ranges, recognizing when a kindergarten student requires physical activity and positive reinforcement versus when an eighth grader needs direct accountability.
  • Reviewing weekly student performance metrics to detect trends, eliminate barriers, and systematically enhance results across your entire student group.
  • Develop a student cohort that regularly accomplishes ambitious academic objectives, masters fundamental life skills, and builds the confidence, resilience, and personal responsibility necessary for long-term success beyond Alpha.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Conducting traditional classroom lessons. AI manages academic instruction, freeing you to concentrate on student development.
  • Evaluating assignments, designing lesson plans, or preparing students for standardized examinations.
  • Supervising students who work quietly on devices. Every day is engaged, interactive, and focused on coaching relationships.
  • Seeking permission before supporting a student in difficulty. You possess the authority to respond immediately and take necessary action.
  • Handling parent correspondence or administrative documentation. Campus Leads manage family relationships, allowing you to prioritize students.

Requirements

  • Available to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Bethesda, MD; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Greenwich, CT; Malibu, CA; Miami, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Palm Beach, FL; San Francisco, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA (relocation assistance available).
  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience with K-8 students through teaching, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, camp leadership, or youth programming.
  • Capable of providing a concrete example of inspiring a student to reach a challenging objective, detailing your methodology and the result.
  • Enthusiastic about allowing AI to manage academic instruction while you concentrate on coaching, motivation, and life skills cultivation.
  • Authorized for U.S. employment without need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background coaching youth sports, debate, theater, camps, after-school initiatives, or other performance-oriented activities.
  • Documented record of excellence in academics, athletics, leadership roles, or another competitive domain.
  • Compelling stage presence and narrative abilities that maintain student engagement without depending on volume or disciplinary measures.
  • Proven track record transforming disengaged, resistant, or struggling students into motivated, self-assured learners.
