About the role
The Youth Development Outcomes Specialist supports as a mentor and life skills coach for youth aged 13 to 21, with a focus on those 16-21 for participation in the Youth Advisory Council. They report to senior leadership and are responsible for facilitating youth advisory council activities, group workshops, and individual sessions.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate youth advisory council activities
- Mentor young people through group workshops and individual sessions as needed
- Research, collect data, and develop programming to impact the lives of youth served through NET/NCC
- Support and assist trauma/EBP circles and post-crisis reviews with youth in select NET/NCC programs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Child Welfare, Social Services, Juvenile Justice, with at least 1 year's experience working with adolescents
- Strong knowledge related to child welfare, social services, and case-management as it relates to delinquent/dependent children and youth
- Preparedness to work non-traditional hours based on program needs, including weekends
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Proficient oral and written communication skills to effectively problem-solve
- Must be a team player, patient, flexible, and able to multi-task
- Knowledge of Child Development and Crisis Intervention is preferred
- Valid driver’s license
