Youth Dance Instructor- Arnold

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Dance Instructor to work with our members and lead our classes. This role will be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment and teaching students of all ages, from beginners to advanced levels. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and creative instructor with excellent communication skills. The individual hired for this position will work under the direction of the Regional Programming Director and the Family Center Operations Director.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach dance classes, including setting up and breaking down the studio
• Develop and implement lesson plans that are tailored to the needs of each student
• Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback
• Maintain a clean and organized studio space
• Provide individualized instruction and guidance
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
• Adhere to all safety regulations
• Attend and actively participate in all meetings as assigned
• Incorporate the four character values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and adhere to the CMY Code of Conduct
• Communicate the Y mission and objectives to the community
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends (significant evening and weekend attendance required)
• Proficient computer skills
• Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire)
• Completion of YMCA New Staff Orientation and 6 hours of child abuse prevention training
• At least 21 years of age

Physical Demands

• Required to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, push, and lift up to 100 pounds
• May occasionally work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions
• Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multitasking
• Exposure to cleaning supplies
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
• Must be physically able to successfully complete required certifications

An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results for minimum requirements, which may include a background check, drug test, driver’s license record, CPS, and/or criminal background check.
