About the role

The Youth Crisis Center Peer Support Specialist is responsible for providing emotional support and guidance to youth experiencing crisis situations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate emotional support to youth in crisis situations
• Assist in developing and implementing crisis intervention plans
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure comprehensive care for youth clients

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience working with youth in crisis settings
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
• Experience with crisis intervention techniques

Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies
