About the role

This role is not about teaching. It is about motivation. The most meaningful thing you can do for a student who reaches 99% of their goal is refuse to accept it as complete.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts focused on public speaking, focus, feedback exchange, and other foundational skills, modifying the existing playbook and creating new sessions when you identify unmet needs
• Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions that drive every student toward their weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and your personal connection with each student to overcome resistance
• Administering Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based assessment) for each life skill and coaching students who do not achieve passing scores until they succeed
• Tailoring your coaching approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners who respond to high energy and physical activity to 8th graders who require direct conversations and accountability
• Analyzing weekly cohort performance data in Coachbot, pinpointing students who are falling behind, and modifying your coaching tactics for the upcoming week based on what the data reveals

Requirements

• Able to work in-person at an Alpha campus in Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Chicago, IL; Raleigh, NC; Portland, OR (relocation assistance provided)
• Bachelor's degree in any field
• Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (including classroom teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
• A concrete example you can share of motivating a K-8 student toward a challenging goal: the objective, your actions, and the result
• Comfort with allowing AI to manage instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills coaching

Qualifications

• Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in any field, minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students, ability to work in-person at an Alpha campus, relocation assistance provided
• Nice-to-have Requirements: Background in youth sports coaching, debate, camp leadership, theater, or after-school programs, success in converting disengaged or reluctant students into motivated participants, storytelling ability and stage presence, demonstrated success in holding others to rigorous standards
