Youth Care Specialist - Part Time

About the role

The Youth Care Specialist (YCS) is responsible for providing therapeutic, nurturing, structured, and positive programming tailored to emotionally, psychiatrically, and behaviorally challenged youth, specifically within the CSEC (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children) population. They utilize professional knowledge, interpersonal skills, and learned techniques to foster positive change. The YCS actively participates as part of an inter-disciplinary team, attending team meetings, trainings, and supervision, while serving as a professional role model.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic, nurturing, structured, and positive programming for emotionally, psychiatrically, and behaviorally challenged youth (CSEC population).
• Utilize professional knowledge, interpersonal skills, and learned techniques to foster positive change.
• Participate as part of an inter-disciplinary team: attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision.
• Serve as a professional role model.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college and experience working with youth preferred.
• Experience with high school-aged youth in educational, residential, or similar settings preferred.
• Bi-lingual Spanish skills advantageous.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required.

Schedule

This part-time role requires working 32 hours per week.
