Youth Care Specialist

Get to know Thompson! Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. About the role

As a Youth Care Specialist, you will provide supervision, support, guidance, and build a therapeutic relationship with the youth under your care. A typical day includes engaging with youth in the program, providing direction, structure, and support for their physical and physiological needs. You will schedule and participate in activities, ensure the physical milieu remains clean and safe, complete daily documentation as required by regulatory standards, and transport clients as needed for appointments and activities. This position may require travel to various residential facilities within the Nashville area.

Schedule

This is a rotating schedule with the following shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 7am–7pm
  • 2nd Shift: 7pm–7am

Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday
Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

Pay

Starting pay range: $18.50 – $22.00/hourly based on experience.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the program
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of one year of experience working in a residential youth or adult operation or related experience working in the field of child and family services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite application software
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • All full-time employees must work one of the following schedules: 1st shift (7am–7pm) or 2nd shift (7pm–7am)
