Nexus Family Healing is hiring a Youth Care Professional for its Girl's Group Home in Andover, MN. About the Role
Willow Trails Group Home provides trauma-informed, family-centered treatment for struggling teenage girls. The Youth Care Professional will supervise daily activities and behaviors, participate in team treatment planning, ensure client safety, and engage with families and support networks.
Responsibilities
- Supervise client daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines
- Collaborate with coworkers on trauma-informed, strengths-based treatment plans
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
- Assist in off-campus client activities and transportation
- Engage with clients' families and support networks
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 21+ years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass a DHS criminal background check
- Successfully complete the Handle With Care behavior intervention method exam and training
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with families and trauma-exposed children in a group home setting
Physical Demands
- Able to assist in physical interventions and restraints
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Able to twist, bend, and stretch for daily activities
