Responsibilities
- Participates in the treatment planning and review process
- Makes sure residents follow their treatment plans
- Organizes and leads group activities
- Helps residents with daily tasks
- Promotes good behavior and uses strengths to help residents
- Makes sure residents follow rules and come in/out of the facility correctly
- Uses ways to calm down or stop dangerous situations
- Travels to activities with residents
- Administers medicine as doctors say
- Writes down important things about residents’ lives
- Respects different cultures and understands how they are different
- Does other jobs as asked
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years old
- Has a high school diploma or GED
- Has a bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (preferred)
- Has one year of mental health experience (preferred)
- Has completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training within 90 days of starting
- Passes a health check before starting
- Has a valid driver’s license
- Passes a background check from the government
- Can build good relationships with people from different backgrounds
- Can understand and meet the needs of people from different backgrounds
Physical Demands
- Can help move heavy things up to 100 pounds
- Can stand and walk for long periods
- Can twist, bend, and stretch to do daily tasks
- Can take a test and learn a special way to help people
- Works less than 10% of the time traveling to other places
