Youth and Family Counsellor (Full-time)

About the role

The Youth/Family Counsellor plays a pivotal role as a main support figure for young individuals, working in rotating shifts to ensure around-the-clock support, seven days a week. They are an essential team member committed to delivering services to young people and families within a well-organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Build professional relationships with clients and staff while maintaining boundaries
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development
• Maintain organized, accurate, and consistent record-keeping
• Apply creative problem-solving skills
• Adapt flexibly to change

Requirements

• Diploma or undergraduate degree in Human Services (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related fields)
• Experience working with young people is preferred
• Current certifications in Standard First Aid/Level C CPR, PIC, CYIM
• Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract
