About the role
The Youth/Family Counsellor plays a pivotal role as a main support figure for young individuals, working in rotating shifts to ensure around-the-clock support, seven days a week. They are an essential team member committed to delivering services to young people and families within a well-organized environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as a positive role model and team player
- Build professional relationships with clients and staff while maintaining boundaries
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development
- Maintain organized, accurate, and consistent record-keeping
- Apply creative problem-solving skills
- Adapt flexibly to change
Requirements
- Diploma or undergraduate degree in Human Services (e.g., Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related fields)
- Experience working with young people is preferred
- Current certifications in Standard First Aid/Level C CPR, PIC, CYIM
- Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract
