Youth Advocate (Specialty JCPS Connector and SEL Specialist)

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a dedicated advocate for youth
• Collaborate with schools to encourage increased connection and collaboration
• Design and implement SEL lessons, activities, and programs
• Build trusting relationships with youth, families, educators, and community
• Develop and facilitate workshops, group activities, or one-on-one mentoring sessions to promote positive youth development
• Identify and connect youth and families to relevant community resources, services, and opportunities that support their well-being and success
• Monitor and document youth progress, program outcomes, and feedback to assess effectiveness and inform future initiatives
• Provide support and guidance to youth in crisis, collaborating with appropriate professionals and resources as needed
• Provide direct care and support to youth during program hours. Facilitate safe, engaging environments during after-school programs and recreational outings
