Position Summary
Position Summary: BOOST is a fun, high-energy recreational and academic, social program at the Southern Tier Community Center (STCC). The program gives youth access to the gymnasium, fitness equipment, college visits, community resources, and a variety of engaging activities. We're looking for employees who enjoy working with youth, bring patience and enthusiasm, and are committed to helping kids grow both in and out of the classroom.Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing programs for youth ages 13-21.
- Follows all New York State safety guidelines.
- Has a broad knowledge of racial/social justice and proficiency in educational, recreational, and life skill activities.
- Works collaboratively with STCC / CHWC staff and community partners to carry out program goals and objectives.
- Affirms the safety of youth enrolled in the program.
- Manages conflicts effectively.
- Engages actively in all activities and programs.
- Maintains knowledge of current best practices in Positive Youth Development.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- Associate's Degree in human services, psychology, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience working with youth preferred.
- Experience in event programming and coordination preferred.
- Driver’s License and ability to maintain insurability throughout employment required.
