About the role

This position includes serving as a co-teacher in our Young Twos Classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The teacher will collaborate closely with their teaching partner to create a warm, responsive environment where children feel secure, capable, and excited to learn through play. The Young Twos class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and maintains a maximum enrollment of eight children. This classroom is intentionally designed for children with primarily spring and summer birthdays, recognizing that the developmental differences between younger and older two-year-olds can be significant. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the teacher will serve as a school-wide floater, supporting classrooms throughout the preschool.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a co-teacher in the Young Twos Classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Collaborate with teaching partners to create a warm, responsive environment.
  • Maintain a maximum enrollment of eight children in the Young Twos class.
  • Support classrooms throughout the preschool on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  • Assist teachers, support Lunch Bunch and enrichment programs, cover absences, help with transitions, and provide an extra set of hands wherever needed.

Requirements

  • CDA, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Completion of Florida DCF 45-hour mandated training.
  • 3–5 years of experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development, particularly ages 2–3.
  • Patient, calm, nurturing, and dependable.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Pay

This is a part-time position ranging from 22 to 30 hours per week. Our Pay Structure Includes Two Rates Based On Responsibilities:

  • $18–$25/hour for core morning teaching hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM)
  • $18/hour for additional responsibilities, including planning time, Lunch Bunch, staff meetings, enrichment programming, conferences, and family communication

Schedule
