About the Role
Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Yoga Instructor to join our team on the weekends. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in yoga practices, body mechanics, and an understanding of anatomy and physiology. As a Yoga Instructor, you will lead classes that promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and a sense of community among participants. Your expertise will help students of all levels achieve their personal wellness goals in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging and safe yoga classes tailored to various skill levels, including beginners and advanced practitioners.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and postures while providing modifications to accommodate individual needs.
- Educate participants on the principles of body mechanics, anatomy, and physiology as they relate to yoga practice.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages student interaction and community building.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their practice.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio space before and after classes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Yoga Instructor from a recognized program (200-hour minimum preferred).
- Knowledge of body mechanics, anatomy, and physiology is essential for ensuring safe practice.
- Experience in teaching various styles of yoga; additional skills in Pilates or cycle instruction are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire participants.
- Previous experience in a gym or health club setting is advantageous.
- Background in personal training or sports coaching is beneficial but not required.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development within the field of fitness and wellness.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check and drug screen.
