About the Role
This part-time position is for a discipline-specific instructor responsible for delivering a single approved class format, such as Yoga, Adult Fundamentals BJJ, or Intro Mobility.
Responsibilities
- Teach one defined discipline or class type (e.g., Yoga, Adult Fundamentals BJJ, or Intro Mobility).
- Deliver pre-approved curriculum as written.
- Maintain a safe training environment and classroom control.
- Support facility cleanliness and equipment accountability.
- Attend required staff meetings or training sessions as scheduled.
- Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring their safety.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completed yoga teacher training and registered as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) for Yoga instructors.
- Demonstrated competency in the assigned discipline.
- Prior coaching or teaching experience required.
- CPR/First Aid certification required if teaching minors.
- Background screening required for instructors working with youth.
Working Conditions
- Regular evening or weekend work required to support trainings and events.
- Physical activity associated with training and demonstration, including standing for extended periods during instruction.
- Ability to demonstrate self-defense techniques, including controlled physical movements and moderate to high physical activity during classes.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment, typically up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where applicable.
