Yoga Instructor

Location: Williamsburg, Virginia

About the role

Yoga Instructor is a fitness and wellness professional who leads others in yoga. They teach how to perform various stretching poses, practice meditation, and promote mindfulness in addition to overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Interact positively with at least three members before, during, or after class, using their names when appropriate.
• Teach safe and effective classes formatted to the class description, avoiding contraindicated movements and offering modifications throughout the session.
• Maintain a level of fitness appropriate for teaching assigned classes.
• Handle customer‑relation issues professionally without becoming personally involved, relay information to the manager, and complete appropriate documentation.
• Lead participants in proper breathing techniques and poses.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred).
• Experience: 1 year teaching experience (Preferred).
• Licenses and Certifications (required upon hire):
  • Certified Automated External Defibrillator (AED) – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC).
  • Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) – Yoga Alliance.

Pay

Hiring range: $16.80 – $21.83 per hour. Actual pay is determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
