Yoga Instructor

Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct a variety of yoga classes that cater to different skill levels and age groups.
• Communicate with members on their expectations and objectives while participating in the classes.
• Guide participants through sequence variations or modifications and help them use supportive equipment.
• Adapt and structure classes to various fitness levels, dealing effectively with participant challenges.
• Ensure the safety of members at all times by providing clear, concise instructions and demonstrating proper technique.
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages participants to embrace yoga as a part of a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications

• A certified yoga teacher with a minimum 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) Certificate.
• At least two years of yoga instruction experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with diverse clients.
• First Aid and CPR certification would be a plus.
• Knowledge of various yoga styles and techniques such as Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Pranayama, meditation, and yoga philosophy.
• A keen understanding of proper alignment and modifications to ensure student safety while also accommodating for different fitness levels and personal abilities.
• Ability to design effective personalized yoga programs, including classes for specialty populations such as seniors, youth, and pre/postnatal clients.
