Yard/Warehouse Rep
About the role
The Yard/Warehouse Rep I position at Arrow Building Center, Lampert Lumber and Lyman Lumber Companies, divisions of US LBM, involves receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. This entry-level position requires the safe operation of a forklift to stock lumber and building materials.
Responsibilities
- Operate safely.
- Participate in a positive work environment.
- Assist warehouse associates and direct supervisor in maintaining an organized work environment.
- Empty trash receptacles and keep all bays and staging areas clean and organized.
- Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Count and record receipt of materials.
- Stock all material received in appropriate bins or storage locations.
- Aid inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials.
- Operate forklift with foot and hand controls.
- Use forklift to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery equipment.
- Operate facility equipment as necessary (e.g., bander, power tools, various hand tools).
- Maintain awareness of the work environment to produce error-free and damage-free results.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
- Ability/willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
- Effective and professional communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Constructive problem-solving abilities and the ability to deal with conflict.
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., Smartphone, Inventory Control Systems, and other necessary business applications).
Qualifications
Education qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED. Additional potential opportunities are available based on experience.
